The wheel of architecture

The Wayne Hotel was very close to where the D&C steamers docked. In fact, when the hotel was demolished in 1931, the steamer company took over the pavilion. The pavilion lasted until 1950, when it was cleared for the new civic center. It was empty until Joe Louis Arena was built there in the seventies; JLA fell in 2020. Now, the site is back to a hotel again!
